About

When it’s all said and done; I just want to be called, good people. A little about me.

I’m Donna from Philadelphia, raised in South Philly and always lovin’ up on my native roots. I’m an only kid, and my best friend in the world was my mom: Carolyn V. Jackson. You name it; we walked through it together. There was nothing I couldn’t and didn’t tell her. Through her sacrifices, I attended Tuskegee Institute where I established lifelong relationships. Honestly, I did most of my journey with my eyes closed, but I never traveled alone. Jesus has always been there for me. So as I stumbled through darkness; His presence eventually allowed a stroll into a glimmer of hope. Graduated: Registered Nurse and I’m always available to God. I dedicated my career to Him. Graduation from nursing school was an amazingly, proud day for my mom. And she absolutely deserved that day. She was Mommie to me, and my inspiration. Love her.

I’ve always loved the dirty south, so I moved to the ATL. I brought my mom with me. Blessed up on a husband. I married the law: Ricky. Another cherished memory for my mom. Was doin’ my thing; life was good, when everything changed. Woke up to the day that Mommie was gone. Never experienced life without her, so I did as she said, “If there is a time that I am not with you, never forget that Jesus will never leave or forsake you.” She had never been wrong, so as I continued my pilgrimage, I looked to Jesus for a brighter day. It was at my darkest hour that I asked God if I could tell our story, and as a result, I walked into the marvelous light. HE's a very present help. Love Him too.

The Lord did me one better; He said publish it too. New to all of this, and not understanding the timing of God; name the mistake, I made it. But it’s not my first rodeo with the Master, so you’ve probably not ever met a more confident neophyte and I love the lessons He’s taught me. Started haphazardly promoting the book, only to learn that there was more to understand. It’s never about you when it’s God’s will. The scheme of Heavenly things is always greater. So He reconnected me with a group of friends I met in Tuskegee to help me run a nonprofit that was placed in my spirit.

The corporation: Jesus HELP (Heaven Extending Life Promises), is a faith-based organization that will address health, social and economical issues. Our focus is to: encourage the socially-economically deprived, empower through the arts, educate in the nursing science, be the voice for speechless women, and offer employment opportunity in a stagnant economy. A company created with humanity in mind. Mission: Educate. Encourage. Empower. Giving back...

I’m an encourager. My writing reflects not only that characteristic, but my Kingdom values of love, as well. My debut title: Amazing Grace, A Tribute to You, The Story of Us is my memoir. I bear all to help others. In telling my story, my mission and God-given talent was revealed. I’ve been blessed with a ministry in Health and Social Welfare. We’re all here for purpose. I write from my heart to yours, to inspire and motivate you to find your cause. I'm here to bring awareness to issues of the Heart.

I’m not in it to hear job well done, good and faithful servant; you know, I’m that real girl, made some mistakes. But I’ve lived long enough to say, “Had it not been for Jesus on my side.” I thank God for a book appropriately titled for my life. For real, all I really need to hear is job completed. For God so loved the world, He gave us Jesus... Bless you.

Statement of Faith
As a little girl at age nine, I was convinced that Jesus the Christ is the way, the truth, and the life.  It was proven to me early; probably age eight.  I heard a sermon titled, ”Power In The Name of Jesus” and soon after, a test of faith appeared.  As a little girl raised in Urban America, our home was secured with bolted locks to the back door and iron bars secured our back windows.  Our home was difficult to enter.

My test of faith showed up in a lost key scenario.  I wanted to get in my own home instead of waiting with neighbors for my mother to come home; therefore, I climbed over the backyard fence, cut a hole in the screen door and unlocked the door; it was there I met my challenge: The bolted locked door.  I walked over to the secured window and assessed the foe before me and took God at His word.

My ram in a bush presented as a long 4x4 piece of plywood.  My task became less complicated with it, but the goal continued as difficult to obtain. I removed the screen from the window, put the plywood between the bars, aimed the plywood towards the door to reach the lock in the floor, and called on the name of Jesus.  On my third attempt, I had access to my house.  Since that day, I have always believed, “I can do all things through Jesus the Christ.”.

And as I’ve accepted Jesus as “Lord and Savior”, life exists because of Jehovah: He who created all.  Throughout the Bible, He’s revealed as fierce in battle, clever in escape, a navigator through storms, and compassionate in all his ways. He’s victorious at all times and it started with, “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth, and after seven days; He was pleased and said, ‘Good.’ HE rested: (Genesis 1-2:3)”

Born in a manger to conqueror all danger, the world received a Teacher that instructed His disciples to go forth and proclaim the good news of the coming of the Messiah.  HE was a friend to the poor and hope for all mankind.  To fulfill prophesy, He laid down His life, for those who would believe that He lives and is seated on the right hand side of His father interceding on the behalf of those who fall from grace (Matthew 1-2, Matthew 28:16-20 and Luke 23:20-53).

The initial fall from grace was the most beautiful angel ever created; “The angel described as perfect without sin, full of wisdom, anointed as a guardian cherub, placed on the Holy Mount of God; blameless until wickedness found him.  Jehovah threw him to the earth: (Ezekiel 28:12-17).  It was there that he’d seek to kill mankind by convincing woman to eat from the forbidden tree: (Genesis 3).   From this event came the greatest display of love: For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever shall believe in Him should not perish, but have ever lasting life: (John 3:16). The thief’s plan is to still, kill and destroy: (John 10:10).”  I choose to live which is why I accepted grace extended to me.

Grace is found in the scriptures: “Romans 3:23: We’re not worthy.   Romans 6:23: We deserve to die, but God gave us the ultimate gift.  Romans 5:8: What greater Love; an innocent man died.  Titus 3:5: Mercy was extended; salvation made available.  Romans 10:8-9: That if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.”

I absolutely believe Jesus is coming back again, but as I wait; He’s left me The Comforter.  The Holy Spirit not only comforts, but provides peace through revelations of the truth and enables me the ability to live a respectable life through the gifts of the Spirits: love, joy, peace, patience,  kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control.  I am able to make covenant with God as led by the Holy Spirit (John 14:15-31 and Galatians 5:13-26).

My Covenant to God
“To God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit I pledge my love, faith and obedience and covenant to live as a Christian in my community and the world, and to be zealous in my efforts to advance the Kingdom of our Savior.
I further covenant to pray for others; to help others in sickness and distress; to cultivate Christian sympathy; to minister in compassion, sacrifice and concern as I share the joy and sorrows of others.

I moreover covenant to love as a disciple of Jesus Christ and to grow in His grace and knowledge.  I will not neglect to study the Holy Scriptures; nor fail to pray faithfully.  I also covenant to contribute cheerfully my time, tithes and talents to support ministry, offer relief to the poor, and to spread the gospel through all nations.”

Finally, as JADE and Jesus HELP Incorporations have been given; I return these ministries unto You that Your will be done in the lives of others through that which was entrusted to me in health and social welfare.  I stand on Your Word from the scriptures:   “In a very short time, will not Lebanon be turned into a fertile field and the fertile field seem like a forest? In that day the deaf will hear the words of the scroll, and out of gloom and darkness the eyes of the blind will see.  Once more the humble will rejoice in the LORD; the needy will rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.  The ruthless will vanish, the mockers will disappear, and all who have an eye for evil will be cut down— :(Isaiah 29:17-20).”

“For without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him: (Hebrews 11:6)". With all of my heart, I commit to these projects for the glory of God and the sake of the Kingdom.  May He who reigns forever more be seen and may souls be added in multitudes of too many to ever be recorded as a result of obedience. May Your gift of faith given to me as a child always be encouraging for others and transcend in Your works.  May I never forget, “ HE who started a good work in me cannot abort until it is completed: (Philippians 1:6)”. To God be the glory...
